Week 3

It's Monday and there are some new digital goodies coming out today!!  This week I used the Journal Themed Cards found here.  I enjoyed using this kit and the journaling pages which are 6x8 are really cute too.  I actually used a journaling page and clipped it to the clipping mask in the picture of my son with his boxes.  There are also a few other kits coming out including the My Story kit which I'm so excited about!

This week was another ordinary week around here.  It was school for my oldest and my son's co-op school started again this week after a break for Christmas.  Our golden retriever, Daisy celebrated her 9th birthday this week.  We finally had a Saturday off together with nothing to do so we took advantage of it and went to a local indoor kids gym, did some shopping and went out to lunch.  Fun family day!!

My youngest got his first bath in the big bathtub this week and I love the fact that with one picture and some journaling I can tell the story and have it documented with little fuss!  In fact, I look back to my Project Life albums from the past years to see when the big kids reached certain milestones or when we went somewhere etc.  I just love this project so much and how it's such a great documentation of our lives!! So without further chit chat here is week 3!

Week 2

Happy Monday!!  Monday's around Becky Higgins digital world often mean new digital kits are released!!  This week I created the kits using the Neapolitan Core Kit!  I loved working with the lighter colors and thought the kit was just darling!  Again this kit will be on sale through Sunday so that's the best time to get it!  There are also a few other kits that have come out this week as well so be sure to check those out!

Onto Week 2...

Week 2 was getting back into our routine.  Savannah went back to school and so we got back into a semi routine.  It was hard for her to get back into the groove of things after holiday break so by Friday I think we were back in the groove.  It was cold this week and we ended up getting an inch or two of snow so the kids were able to go outside and play in the snow!  It doesn't snow a whole lot in Maryland so the kids always get so excited to go out and play in it!!

Camden was also obsessed with boxes this week, so much so that he took them to bed with him!  Silly boy!  One thing that I have done since last year is complete a "right now" card with things that we are doing/saying right now.  Most of the time it is stuff about the kids, but every once in awhile I put things in about my husband or myself.  It's interesting to see the kids sayings or different things they were into each week.  I got the idea from Kristina Proffitt and I have loved doing it!  I don't always remember to jot things down through the week, but I do love it when I remember and I can capture a few things that I don't ever want to forget about "right now" in our lives.  Onto Week 3...

2014 is done!

It's finally done!!  I just finished my 2014 book and uploaded to Shutterfly this morning!  Such a good feeling!!  I can't wait to get the completed book in my hands for myself and my family to look through!  My kids love looking through the first half of the year so I'm sure this one will be a hit as well.

I chose a 12x12 book from Shutterfly with lay flat pages as I have done for the past projects that I have done.  I fell in love with the lay flat pages after seeing Lindsey's book in her blog post a few years ago.  I love that I don't have to worry about gutter and the pages are thicker so it stands up to little kids looking through it frequently.

So glad this year is completed and now looking forward to starting 2015 and getting this project rolling again!!  If you would like to see the completed book, click the link below and check it out!

Week 1 2015

So I am absolutely terrible at updating this blog, but at least I'm keeping up with my pages!!  I am "caught up" to Week 2 for January and will complete Week 3 after all of the end of week stuff happens (uploading pics, going through phone pics etc.).  Anyway I wanted to share week 1 that I created using the Weekly Planner Themed Cards.  Let me say that I absolutely loved working with this kit although it was small! I am a huge fan of the bright colors and I just found it so cute!  It is on sale through Sunday January 18th so get it while you can!

This week was pretty low key and short.  I always start my year with January 1 so this week was only January 1-4, 2015.  My husband was home on the 1st which was awesome and I worked the entire weekend so there really wasn't a whole lot going on.  We took our annual New Year's Day photo and its hard to believe last year for that photo I was only like 5-6 weeks pregnant with Sawyer!!  I didn't take a ton of photos so I needed a little bit of filler so I love to add things like what our favorites are and since it was a New Year I also added things like my biggest fitness goals and the prices of things the last time we bought them.

Definitely a favorite lay out and kit of mine right now!!  I love the family picture of all of us and I love how all three kids were looking at the camera even though it was on the timer!  We can't get them to look at the camera that good when we are standing behind it!! Check back on for Week 2!!  Until next time...

Week 50

I have been playing catch up with Project Life recently and I am determined to be finished with 2014 by next Saturday so I can upload it and get ready for printing!!  I am so excited to be almost done with my second full year of digital project life!!

During this week we had a pretty normal week although we did do some fun holiday things like going to see Santa, the lights on the bay and gingerbread houses at the community library.  I used the Merry and Bright kit to document this week and I just love how bright and vibrant the colors are!

My title cards that I used for 2014 were retired from Nettio designs.  I also used some Ali Edwards brushes for the week numbers.

I'm hoping to be back tomorrow with another week completed and ready for the book!!  I love how simple and easy this project is to complete!

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!  It's hard to believe that 2015 is already here!  2014 was a year of transition for us with welcoming a new baby and my husband having a new job with a much longer commute so I'm hoping 2015 will bring some calm!! Ha!  Anyway I wanted to pop in to share a new memory keeping project that I will be starting today and will continue for 5 years.  I'm sure some of you may have heard of a 5 year journal but for those who haven't I have recently heard about them in blogland but I was not impressed with the Q & A Journal on Amazon that many use.  So when I turned to YouTube and saw some videos of people using my favorite Erin Condren stationary products to create their own journals I was sold!  I set out to make my own.  A quick google search and I came across the blog of Debbie Hodge who so kindly made lists for every month of the year!  So I ordered an Erin Condren notebook, printed out my questions and created my very own 5 year journal.

So what is a 5 year journal anyway?  A 5 year journal is a journal in which every day for 5 years you answer the same question and you will see over the years how your answer changes (or perhaps stays the same).  For example for the next 5 years I will be answering the question of what my number one goal is for the New Year on January 1 for the years 2015-2019.

I did use some of my own questions when I didn't particularly like the question that was listed.

I'm excited to start with this type of memory keeping this year as I'm not very good at keeping a journal, but a line a day will be easy for me to keep up with.  I will share more as the year progresses, but for now, I just have January written out and know I want to do some monthly and yearly recaps, however I'm not entirely sure what those will be yet ;)  I wanted to share what I had now so if anyone else is interested you can get yours started today!!

If anyone is interested in ordering a notebook through Erin Condren please consider using my referral link if you are a first time customer.  It will give you $10 off of your first order! https://www.erincondren.com/referral/invite/vanessalaurnoff

Until next time!!  Have a Happy New Year and stay tuned for some project life pages soon to come on the blog as I prep my 2014 book for printing!!  Exciting stuff!
